IT stocks were trading in the negative while realty stocks were on a high.
The domestic equity market opened on a positive note on Friday after the rupee snapped its losing streak and US stocks ended higher in overnight trade on Thursday. There was brisk trading on frontline counters in early trade.

Shares of Axis Bank (Rs 357.58 crore), GAIL (Rs 197.72 crore), Divis Lab (Rs 127.35 crore), RIL (Rs 120.81 crore), YES Bank (Rs 91.36 crore), Maruti Suzuki (Rs 87.83 crore), Vedanta(Rs 82.46 crore), Bharti Infratel (Rs 73.13 crore), HDFC Bank (Rs 70.85 crore) and Dr Reddys Labs (Rs 63.59 crore) were the most active stocks in terms of value on NSE in Friday's early trade.

Titan Company (Rs 60.98 crore), DLF (Rs 60.84 crore), HDFC (Rs 54.71 crore), Bajaj Finance (Rs 52.32 crore), Tata Motors (Rs 50.26 crore), SBI (Rs 49.90 crore), BPCL (Rs 47.56 crore) and Sun TV (Rs 46.68 crore) were the other major stocks in the pack.

At 10.15 hours (IST), the Sensex was trading 149 points or 0.48 per cent higher at 31,432.12 while the 50-share pack was trading above 9,800 level at 9,820.45, up 0.53 per cent.

Shares of Bajaj Auto (up 1.19 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 1.06 per cent), Asian Paint (up 1.05 per cent) and Bharti Airtel (up 0.90 per cent) were the top gainers on BSE. On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever (down 1.38 per cent), TCS (down 0.79 per cent), Cipla (down 0.52 per cent), Wipro (down 0.35 per cent) and Power Grid (down 0.33 per cent) were the top losers.

IT stocks were trading in the negative while realty stocks were on a high. Nifty Realty (up 2.48 per cent) was the top sectoral gainer at around 10.15 am (IST).
