Bajaj Platina ComforTec launched with LED DRL at a price of Rs 46,656, delivers 104 kmpl

Bajaj Auto has updated the Platina ComforTec with an LED DRL, however, other features and the mechanicals of the motorcycle remains unchanged.

Bajaj Auto is presently in the process of updating its existing model range in the country by equipping new features that were earlier missing on the motorcycles. The latest model to join this list is the Bajaj Platina ComforTec that now gets an LED DRL (Daytime Running Lamp). The updated Bajaj Platina ComforTec with LED DRL is priced at Rs 46,656, ex-showroom and Rs 54,546, on-road in Delhi. The 2017 Bajaj Platina ComforTec is available for sale across the company's dealerships in the country. The company, however, is yet to release an official statement about the launch.

The LED daytime running lamp is placed above the conventional headlamp, while other features and design remains unchanged. The commuter motorcycle gets the same features that were available on the previous models such as electric start button and an analogue instrument cluster that gets speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, etc.

Powering the 2017 Bajaj Platina ComforTec is the same BS4-compliant single-cylinder DTS-i 102 cc engine. The carbureted engine produces 7.9 hp of power at 7,500 rpm and 8.34 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm and is paired to a four-speed transmission. The motorcycle has a top speed of 90 kmph and uses tubular single down tube with lower cradle frame. The company claims that the Platina ComforTec delivers an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 104kmpl and has a fuel tank capacity of 11 litres, effectively giving it a range of more than 1,000 km on a single tank.

The motorcycle uses the telescopic front fork and hydraulic spring suspension at the rear, while the braking duties are performed by drum brakes at both ends. The Platina ComforTec has a seat height of 807 mm, kerb weight of 111 kg and 190 mm of ground clearance, making it a light and easy motorcycle to handle in traffic.
