Aston Martin cars are the epitome of the famous fictional character James Bond in films. Now the supercar maker is attempting to reach new heights of achievements, but for that it is plunging to new lows! It is not building a car at all, what it has created is a concept for a – submarine! Yes, you read that right. You may say James Bond had a car-cum-submarine, but that is not what this one is about – it is just meant for the sea, last heard. Aston Martin is building a new submarine that it has dubbed as ‘Project Neptune’. According to a report by Fortune, Aston Martin is making a high-tech submarine in a partnership with Triton Submarines. While announcing the new sub, Marek Reichman, the Aston Martin Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer (CEO) was quoted saying, “Project Neptune is defined by its sleek, elegant exterior.” He added, “We have used forms and proportions that express the same devotion to design, engineering and beauty that shape our cars, such as the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar project.”
Project Neptune, the sub, is currently in its concept phase. Bradley Yorke-Biggs, the Aston Martin Consulting Managing Director said, “Project Neptune is a flagship project for Aston Martin Consulting.” He added, “It is a clear and engaging demonstration of how Aston Martin’s expertise in sports car design and craftsmanship can be extended into new aspects of the luxury world.”

Aston Martin, which is also the favourite brand of James Bond is known for its over the top, fancy cars. It has achieved excellence with this design new design. In fact, Project Neptune might change the outlook of people towards a submarine that is generally seen just as a cylinder with a tube at the top (conning tower). Aston Martin sub will change everyone’s idea of what a sub should look like!
A Quartz report said that the companies hope to create “an exclusive, strictly-limited edition vehicle” intended “for researchers, explorers, and superyacht owners.” The report quoted an Aston Martin representative explaining the companies decision to enter the partnership. “Projects like this enable us to further enhance and grow the brand into new aspects of the luxury world that appeal to both our existing and future customers,” he said.
