A new international trailer of Thor: Ragnarok has surfaced and with it has come some new footage. The trailer is meant for China and it is understandable because China is an important (and huge market) for Hollywood movies. Many of the biggest superhero movies this year like Spider-man: Homecoming and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 are doing really well there. Chris Hemsworth himself appears in the beginning of the trailer, introducing the trailer to the Chinese.

The premise of Thor: Ragnarok is simple. The goddess of death in Norse mythology, Hela (Cate Blanchett), invades Asgard and pulverises Thor’s hammer Mjolnir like it was made of sand. Thor finds himself in a gladiatorial style arena that is overseen by the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum). Thor has to fight the Incredible Hulk and somehow survives without his hammer. They then join Valkyrie and Loki to make a improvised team to fight Hela and reclaim Asgard. Even with this, Hela would be a tough nut to crack. She is the goddess of death, after all.

In the beginning of the trailer, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) appears and warns Thor that “Destiny has dire plans for you.” To which Thor replies,” I have dire plans for destiny.” Idris Elba also appears in the trailer. He has lost his headgear and is now a wanderer apparently. Sir Anthony Hopkins is also confirmed in the film, as Odin, the supreme God and the ruler of Asgard.

He was the one who assigned Hela to rule the realm of death. The brilliant Cate Blanchett looks suitably evil and destructive as Hela, and seems like the perfect villain for the film. This is probably the most awaited Thor film yet and will lock horns with DC’s flagship film, that is even more hyped than Thor: Ragnarok – Justice League.

Justice League release on November 17 while Thor: Ragnarok will release on November 3. It would be interesting to see which film comes out on top.
