BENGALURU: Business pockets of Koramangala and residential areas of HSR Layout were badly affected due to the torrential downpour throughout the night. Many shops on 80 feet road of Koramanagala were shut and people were engaged in pumping out water from their basements. In the process, they ended up flooding half the road as there was only one outlet on the road for water to reach the drains. Manager of Mayura restaurant, Lohit Naik said, “We had to shut down power in the building because we needed enough power to flush the water out.” “We came here in the morning and saw our equipment damaged and three bikes submerged. We suffered damages` 14 lakh.

We will get back around 60 per cent of it through insurance. Around 20 people came to hand over their bikes for servicing and we had to turn them away,” said Sales Manager S Chandan of a Yamaha showroom. People in a row of houses at 11th Main Road of Sixth Sector of HSR Layout could not step out due to two feet of water outside their gates.
