Altitude President Brian Cook, Advises Governor Brewer to Accept The Will of The People and Proceed with Arizona's Medical Marijuana Dispensary Process

04:50 EDT 28 Sep 2017 | PR Newswire

PHOENIX, Aug. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Altitude Organic Corporation (ERBB:OTCPink), a leading national, publicly-traded medical marijuana company, would like to update shareholders on the status of Arizona Governor Jan Brewer's lawsuit against the federal government regarding the legality of the state medical marijuana law.  Deputy US attorney Scott Risner filed legal papers in US District Court on Monday August 1st asking judge Susan Bolton to throw out the case saying, "there is no legal basis for the meritless lawsuit because there is an absence of any prosecution regarding the actual state law."  Scott Risner belittled the lawsuit filing characterizing it as an academic or political question that Governor Jan Brewer has requested the federal court answer.  The federal attorney arguments mirror the position taken by the American Civil Liberties Union and Arizona dispensary applicants that sued the state of Arizona to reopen the dispensary application process that is costing legal dispensary applicants, landlords, and medical patients hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars during the delays.

CEO Brian Cook commented, "It is clear to most that the governor's position is intended to thwart the implementation of Arizona's new medical marijuana laws.  Not one less person is using cannabis in Arizona due to her delaying tactics. The costs to the state in lost tax revenue, delayed job creation, wasted lawsuit expenditures, and additional strain on our already overtaxed criminal justice system are enormous.  Altitude Organic Corp plans to create jobs, follow strict legal regulations, pay significant state and federal taxes, and help communities and patients along the way.  The time is now for Governor Brewer to take a major step in rebuilding Arizona's ailing economy by removing any contrived impediments standing in the way of creating a legally regulated cannabis industry.  By not acting now, the people of Arizona can be guaranteed that the cannabis industry will continue to be managed by criminals in an underground, untaxed, and unregulated marketplace."
