The Central Bureau of Investigation has again summoned former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram’s son Karti for questioning in the Aircel-Maxis deal case. He has been told to appear before the probe team on October 4.
The CBI had issued the first summons earlier this month. However, through his lawyer, Mr. Karti told the agency to withdraw it as the special court had discharged all the accused in the case and that the proceedings had been terminated. He also said that he had nothing more to add to the statement that he had given in November 2014.
A couple of days ago, the ED provisionally attached assets worth ₹1.16 crore of Mr. Karti as part of the Aircel-Maxis deal case probe.
