Holidays are the best time for business at the box office. Varun Dhawan, Tapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer ‘Judwaa 2’ will be releasing this Friday and for many reasons trade analyst Girish Johar is sure that although it tells the same old tale with new faces, ‘Judwaa 2’ is bound to do well at the box office this week.

“The advance booking for ‘Judwaa 2’ had started on Monday and in some places on Tuesday and the film is getting a fantastic response. I think people are looking forward to seeing Varun Dhawan enacting one of Salman Khan’s famous roles. I assume the film will make as much as Rs 15 crore on the first day. Since the holiday seasons are on, ‘Judwaa 2’ has all the possibilities of crossing the Rs 50 crore mark on Sunday. With Monday being an extended holiday, we can expect the film to do better. It has all the possibilities,” said Girish Johar.

Earlier this year, Varun Dhawan delivered a hit with the release of ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya’. With releases like ‘Naam Shabana’, ‘The Ghazi Attack’ and ‘Running Shaadi’, Taapsee Pannu had had a moderate year. Jacqueline Fernandez’s ‘A Gentleman’ failed to perform well at the box office. So will ‘Judwaa 2’ act as a platform for Taapsee and Jacqueline to register hits? Girish Johar feels it’s more of a team effort than an individual one.

“One can’t single out an actor’s success. It is after all always a teamwork. As far as I can see, team ‘Judwaa 2’ has been promoting itself in the right direction. Eventually, if it becomes a hit it will be another successful film for them. If it’s a flop, then it’s a flop for everyone. We can’t say it’s a flop for Varun Dhawan but not for Taapsee Pannu. It is always a team effort,” he explained.

Lately, Varun Dhawan’s tiff with actor Govinda has been one of the most talked about topics in B-Town. Controversies have often been a strategy used by films to make their presence felt. On asking him if this news may work well for the film, Girish Johar said,”I don’t think that the quarrel between Varun Dhawan and Govinda will be the sole factor to gain an audience. I think that was an unnecessary thing that happened. I don’t think a quarrel like this will entice viewers to go and watch the film. ‘Judwaa 2’ has created enough hype, that has made people want to watch the film anyway. I heard even Salman Khan has a cameo here.”
