The public hearing conducted for the Kaleshwaram project in Maharashtra on Wednesday went off peacefully barring stray incidents of slogan shouting.
The public hearing held at Pochampally village of Sironcha Taluk of Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra started at 2 p.m. and about 300 people from the neighbouring villages took part in it. Of them, 11 persons expressed their opinions regarding the project while nine others submitted written representations. According to officials, a group of people, believed to be Congress workers, assembled at a road near the venue after the conclusion of the public hearing and raised slogans for some time. They, however, left the venue after sometime, an official release said.
