Speeding car turns turtle at elevated road in Noida

NOIDA: Two persons narrowly escaped after a speeding Ford EcoSport car hit the divider and overturned at the elevated road near Sector 24 on Thursday afternoon. The occupants - a boy and a girl - in their early 20s evacuated the car and left the spot in a cab.
The car was moving towards Sector 60 when the accident took place near Agrasen Bhawan. The car turned turtle and it created a heavy traffic jam at the spot.
An eyewitness said that the boy at the driving seat lost balance over the speeding car and hit the divider. "The car overturned and its bumper was damaged. However, the two occupants escaped with minor injury. They soon called a cab and left the spot," he said.
A front tyre of the car was found burst. Police said that prima facie it seem the driver could not control the vehicle after the tyre burst.
Ummed Singh, SHO Sector 24 police station, said that a police team reached at the spot and removed the vehicle using a crane. Police found some food and liquor bottle inside the car. It is also suspected the occupants were drunk at the time of accident.
The car had a Ghaziabad registration number. Police said that they were trying to establish the identity of vehicle owner using the car's registration number.
