The grand finale of the Bigg Boss Tamil kicked off on Monday, 25 September with five contestants inside the house — Bindhu Madhavi, Harish Kalyan, Ganesh Venkatraman, Snehan and Aarav — fighting for the coveted title of the reality show's first season.
Although Kamal Haasan had already informed the audience about a mid-week elimination and that the fight at the finale stage will be between only four inmates, contestants were utterly confused about what he had communicated to them. Snehan and Ganesh suggested that there could be an eviction on Wednesday to make the final count of inmates four, while others continued playing the game, unaware of a possible elimination.
Anjali pays a surprise visit to promote her upcoming film Balloon
Actress Anjali, best known for her stellar performances in films such as Angadi Theru and Kattradhu Tamizh, made a surprise entry to the house to promote her upcoming horror comedy Balloon, which also stars Jai, Janani Iyer, and Chandini in the lead roles. Bigg Boss asked contestants to perform various activities such as dancing, singing, and mono-acting in front of Anjali, who was entrusted with the task of picking the best performer.

Anjali selected Harish Kalyan for his excellent vocals when he sang the song 'Saaindhu Saaindhu' originally composed and sung by Yuvan Shankar Raja. "I loved everyone's performance very much. But I'm going to choose Harish as the winner, for the extraordinary effort he has put into singing this song," said Anjali.
Anjali advised that the competition in the house should be healthy for the next six days. "It's all going to be over soon. So don't fight with each other. Be happy and have fun. I'll invite you all to the premiere of my film once you guys leave the house, " Anjali said and bid adieu to the Bigg Boss Tamil contestants.
Contestants dress up like movie stars for the dance marathon task
Bigg Boss asked the contestants to dress up like actors Ramarajan, Rajinikanth, Nayanthara, Ajith, and Simbu for the dance marathon task. Each inmate was given two songs to perform in front of everyone in the living room. While Snehan grooved to Ramarajan's popular numbers 'Mundhi Mundhi' and 'Maanguyile Poonguyile', Aarav shook a leg to Rajinikanth's 'Raakkamma Kaiya Thattu' and 'Irumbile Oru Idhayam'. Bindhu was asked to dance to Nayanthara's 'Kodambakkam Area' and 'Halena Halena'. Harish and Ganesh imitated actors Simbu and Ajith Kumar; they danced to 'I'm a Kuthu Dancer' and 'Kutti Pisaase', and 'Surviva' and 'Veera Vinaayaga' respectively.

Housemates reject Bigg Boss' lavish offer
Bigg Boss asked Harish to come to the confession room and gave him a suitcase which contained Rs 10 lakh. "If any of you is willing to quit the game now, you can walk away with Rs 10 lakh," said Bigg Boss. Everyone unanimously rejected the offer and said, "We will wait for the people's decision."
Snehan said he would never quit the game unless the viewers dismissed him. Within minutes, Bigg Boss provided a new offer, raising the stakes to Rs 11 lakh for anyone who wished to leave the house immediately. Contestants paid no heed to the offer and resumed playing the task assigned to them.
Bigg Boss reassigns the thief task
Bigg Boss reassigned the old 'Thiruda Thiruda' task to the contestants by giving them a diamond to protect at all times. The diamond was placed inside a box and kept in the living room. Bigg Boss called each housemate to the confession room and warned them to be very careful and catch the thief at any cost. Harish was asked by Bigg Boss to play the role of a thief and steal the diamond.
While Bindhu and Aarav confessed that they were not assigned to play a thief, they strongly suspected Snehan because of his peculiar behaviour after coming out of the confession room. Ganesh said Harish could be the thief, citing his tendency to go to bed early every day and the fact that he never has control over his sleep cycle. "I think Bigg Boss would have asked Harish to play the thief to test his determination," Ganesh told Aarav and Bindhu.
At the stroke of midnight, everyone slept around the diamond in the living room. During the wee hours of the morning, Harish silently woke up and skillfully stole the diamond without anyone's knowledge. After getting up in the morning, contestants had a bewildered look on their faces when the realised that the jewel had gone missing.
With only four days to go, Bigg Boss announced that there would be an elimination in the episode which will air on 28 September. The final number of contestants will ultimately reduce to four, and the winner will be declared this weekend.
