David Warner smashes sparkling century in 100th ODI to end Australia's losing streak [Photos]

David Warner hit his 14th ODI century in his 100th one-day international to help Australia end India's one-day international winning streak at nine after taking the fourth match of their series by 21 runs in Bangalore on Thursday. AP

Opting to bat after winning the toss, Australia got off to a quick start as India rested their first-choice pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah. David Warner and Aaron Finch put on 50 runs off just 53 balls. AP

It was a chanceless partnership as Indian fielders looked short of energy. Warner reached his half-century off 45 balls, and Finch too followed his hundred in Indore with his 17th ODI half-century off 65 balls. The duo continued plundering at ease as for once the Indian spinners proved expensive as well. AP

Warner reached his hundred off 103 balls to become the eighth batsman to achieve this feat in the 100th ODI. AP

Warner scored 124 runs off 119 balls, with 12 fours and four sixes, as he became the first Australian batsman to score a century in his 100th ODI. AP

Australia lost three wickets for five runs in the space of 14 deliveries to go from 231-0 to 236-3. After Warner's dismissal, Finch missed out on his hundred, caught at mid-on off Umesh Yadav (4-71) five balls later. Overall, he faced 96 balls, and hit 10 fours as well as three sixes. AP

Travis Head (29) and Peter Handscomb then added 63 runs for the fourth wicket, making sure Australia did not lose momentum like in the previous game. Handscomb made sure that the series got its first 300-plus score though, smashing 43 off 30 balls with three fours and a six. He was the last wicket to fall as Australia reached 334-5. AP

India began their reply on a positive note as Ajinkya Rahane (53 off 58 balls) and Rohit Sharma (65 off 42 balls) put on 106 runs for the opening wicket. AP

Kane Richardson broke the century stand after sending Rahane trudging back to the pavilion. Then Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were in a bad mixup, both ending up at the same end. Sharma was run out. AP

Virat Kohli played on off Coulter-Nile in the 25th over as India was reduced to 147-3. AP

Hardik Pandya (41) came out to bat at No. 4 again, and attacked the spinners as in Indore. He made 88 with Jadhav as India's 200 came up in the 32nd over. Pandya was out hitting to long on. AP

Kedar Jadhav smashed seven fours and a six for his 67 but was caught in the deep in the 46th over. AP

Three balls later, Manish Pandey was bowled on 33 by Pat Cummins. MS Dhoni led India past 300, but the asking rate was too much in the face of inspired death bowling from the Australia quicks. India ended on 313-8. AP

Australia registered their first win in 14 ODIs on foreign soil. India still lead the series 3-1 with one match to go, but lost an ODI for the first time since July. AP
