The Punjab and Haryana High Court has extended the stay on the arrest of Ryan International School owners Augustine Pinto, Grace Pinto and CEO Ryan Pinto till October 7 in connection with the murder of 7-year-old student Pradyuman Thakur earlier this month.

This even as the two arrested officials of the Ryan school were denied bail today. Their pleas will now be taken up on October 6.

The Pintos have been accused of criminal negligence in the murder of Class 2 student Pradyuman Thakur in the Ryan International School in Gurgaon.

CBI SEEKS MORE TIME FOR PROOF AGAINST PINTOS

The Punjab and Haryana High Court extended the stay on the Ryan owners' arrest till October 7 after the CBI sought more time from the court to submit evidence against the Pinto family. The investigating agency, after taking over the case from Haryana Police, has so far failed to question the Pintos. The high court has asked the Pintos to cooperate fully in the investigation.

Susheel Tekriwal, counsel for Pradyumn's parents who opposed the anticipatory bail to the Pintos, told the media, "We will oppose any further bail to the Pintos as well as their two officials who are behind the bars. Today the judges gave them relief since the CBI couldn't file its reply."
