Godavari dance fest kicks off on colourful note

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: The two-day Godavari Dance and Lantern Festival kicked off on a colourful note at Kotilingala Ghat in the city on Wednesday evening to mark World Tourism Day. MP Maganti Murali Mohan underlined the need to tap the immense tourism potential of Godavari region in general and AP’s Cultural Capital Rajamahendravaram in particular to achieve growth. Harathi was offered to the River Goddess by 31 priests. A ballet on Amaravati was presented by Ananda Shankar. Madhurima presented a Kuchipudi dance depicting Vande Mataram. Percussionist Sivamani 
also performed at the festival.
