Mumbai: The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) officers have arrested two smugglers on Monday night at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai,and seized a silver coated crude gold kada (bracelet), one crude gold chain and a crude gold belt buckle totally weighing 1000 grams worth Rs. 28.18 lakh from their possession.
“Our team intercepted one Abbas Mohideen Tajudeen near boarding gate number 65 while he was handing over a packet to one Mohamed Farook Mohammed Shajahan, who was going to Delhi by AI 348. Both have been arrested,” police said. In a different case, the AIU has arrested one passenger Kunhikanam Basheer with 5,807 grams cannabis or ‘ganja’ worth Rs. 5.5 lakh. Basheer was about to depart to Dubai. He has been remanded into judicial custody.
