HMD Global was highly expected to unveil the 3G variant of its Nokia 3310 feature phone. Now the same has been officially unveiled.
After the announcement of the Nokia 3310 (2017) at the MWC 2017 tech show in February this year, many fans were disappointed as the device missed out on the 2G connectivity feature while 4G is booming. The feature phone was literally useless in many countries where the telecom operators do not provide 2G support.
The users who wanted to buy the Nokia 3310 (2017) badly wanted a 3G variant of the iconic device. Going by the same, HMD has announced the Nokia 3310 3G in two color variants - Charcoal and Azure with a matte finish and silver keypads. Also, the device will be available in Warm Red and Yellow color variants as the standard Nokia 3310.
Nokia 3310 3G specs
Apart from the 3G connectivity, the other specifications are the same as in the 2G variant of the Nokia 3310. The device boasts of a 2.4-inch QVGA display with 240x320 pixel resolution. There are both single SIM and dual SIM support and connectivity options such as Bluetooth, micro USB and 3.5mm audio jack. The Nokia 3310 3G variant has 64GB storage space that can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.
The battery capacity is the same 1200mAh battery as we saw in the 2G variant of the Nokia 3310. This battery is claimed to render up to 6.5 hours of talk time, up to 24 days of standby time, up to 35 hours of FM radio playback and up to 40 hours of MP3 playback time. The device comes with a 2MP main camera at its rear with LED flash.
UI Changes
With the fresh new color variants, the company has also tweaked the user interface in order to match the color of the feature phone. Nokia has introduced the all-new Retro UI that will let you customize the interface.
The Nokia 3310 3G version will be launched in more countries than the 2G variant of the device. In addition to the Nokia 3310 3G model, the company has also proudly announced that the device will come with Snake.
