Kapil Sharma's Firangi first look: Rajiev Dhingra's film keeps appearance of characters a mystery

The first look of Kapil Sharma's upcoming film Firangi was released on the movie's Twitter handle on 27 September and has generated a lot of curiosity amongst the audience.

Directed by Rajiev Dhingra, the film stars Monica Gill and Ishita Dutt alongside Sharma and is touted to be a light-hearted romantic comedy set in the time period of India's freedom struggle.

Firangi is the story of a local boy (played by Sharma) who falls in love with an NRI girl (Gill). Dutta is also said to have a meaty role in the movie. A huge village set was erected on the banks of the Sutlej river, where significant portions of the film were shot. Firangi was also extensively shot in regions of Punjab and Rajasthan.

Sharma reportedly lost a lot of weight and got in shape in order to do justice to the portrayal of his character in Dhingra's film. The director is currently busy with the post-production of the movie.

Sharma also recently revealed that he will be singing an unplugged version of 'Saheba Russ Gayi Hai' for the movie. The song will reportedly have a Coke Studio-like feel to it. The original was sung by music maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Firangi all set to hit the cinema screens on 10 November.
