5 dead as car falls into a tank in Hassan

HASSAN: As many as five persons including two women died when the car in which they were travelling plunged into a tank near Hanumanahalli village of Holenarasipur taluk late Monday night.
The driver of the car lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a curve near a tank. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when one of the villagers found a body floating in the tank and informed police.

Holenarasipur police retrieved the bodies. Four bodies were stuck inside a car. Police shifted the bodies to a government hospital in Holenarasipur for post-mortem.According to police, the deceased are Anil (25) of Tattekere in Holenarasipur taluk, Umesh (27) of Shivamogga and Arjun (28) of Arsikere.  Police are yet to identify the two women.

Based on the cinema tickets found in Anil’s pocket, police have ascertained that the victims were on their way to Anil’s house in his car after watching a movie in Hassan on Monday. Police said Anil is a cab diver.Umesh and Arjun are food suppliers in the railways and are said to be  friends. Anil allegedly told his mother over phone that he would come home late in the night as he had work in Hassan on Monday.
Police are investigating the purpose of travelling together in a car with two women and where exactly they board the vehicle.Police have shifted the unidentified bodies to cold storage in HIMS.Holenarasipur rural police registered a case and have taken up an investigation.
