Malayalam cinema’s top actors Dileep and Manju Warrier are set to clash at the box office today. Following several controversies after the actor’s arrest, Dileep’s much talked about film ‘Ramaleela’ has finally hit the screens today and fans expect this movie to be a hit at the box office. Several factors are likely to help actor Dileep conquer box office collections through his latest release ‘Ramaleela’.

Firstly, the movie had been ridden with controversies related to the actor’s arrest, triggering much curiosity and interest among avid movie goers. The most striking aspect of this movie is that it shows the story of a person who is wrongly perceived to be the culprit and put behind the bars. Given that there is considerable support for the arrested actor among a section of Malayalis, even the movie’s teaser has triggered considerable buzz with the dialogue in Malayalam where Dileep says, ”Seems like it has already been decided that should be the culprit.”

Secondly, the actor will be seen in a completely new avatar as a politician. Fans of the actors are confident that the movie will succeed at the box office. The last time the actor had portrayed the role of a politician in a movie ‘Lion’, the film had fared well at the box office.

Thirdly, the movie’s release had been postponed several times after the actor was arrested but has now been released across 129 theaters in Kerala alone and across the country whereas Manju’s movie is set to be displayed in only 66 theaters in Kerala, as per a news report by Manorama News.

Fourthly, while certain voices within the Malayalam film industry hinted boycotting Dileep’s movie, it is Manju Warrier who had taken to Facebook to say that a movie should not be boycotted as it is the effort of an entire team of movie professionals. Manju’s Facebook post went viral in no time and this may be an indication of the interest that Malayali moviegoers have in Dileep’s ‘Ramaleela’.

Last but not the least, Dileep’s fan base has mostly comprised of families, particularly children who adore the actor’s comedy scenes. It is unlikely that the fans will skip this movie, particularly at this time when the festive season is in full swing, the schools are closed ahead of ‘Vidyarambham’ and most families look to visit nearby movie theaters to watch the latest movies during the extended weekend.

Meanwhile, all eyes are also on Manju Warrier’s film ‘Udaharanam Sujatha’, which is a remake of the Hindi film titled ‘Nil Battey Sannata.’ Expectations are high that the actress, who is now being hailed as Kerala’s only woman superstar, will deliver a stellar performance in the title role as Sujatha. It is noteworthy that while Dileep’s ‘Ramaleela’ will be screened across 129 theaters, Manju Warrier’s ‘Udaharanam Sujatha’ is being released in about 66 theaters in Kerala, as per a report by Manorama News.
