Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi took an interesting swipe at Modi government after former Union Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha attacked current FM Arun Jaitley over the state of Indian Economy. In an article published in The Indian Express today, Sinha hold Jailtey responsible for creating a “mess” in the economy. Sharing the article on Twitter, Congress vice-president, who is campaigning in Gujarat for upcoming Assembly elections, Gandhi, commented, “Ladies & Gentlemen, this is your copilot & FM speaking. Plz fasten your seat belts & take brace position. The wings have fallen off our plane.”

On the third day of his road show in Gujarat, Rahul interacted with locals from Jamnagar to Rajkot on issues like note ban, farm product prices and unemployment.

Taking a swipe at PM Modi Narendra Modi’s famed Gujarat model of development, Rahul said, “Modi’s Gujarat model is a failure. There is need to reintroduce the old Amul model, which takes everybody along. Congress will form the government here, we shall take everybody on board and Gujarat will show the way to the entire country one more time.” Rahul also said that it is shameful that Sardar Patel’s statue is being cast in China and will have ‘Made in China’ inscribed on its back.

In an article published in The Indian Express today, Sinha blamed Jaitley, holding the latter responsible for the “mess” in Indian economy at present. Sinha said that Jaitley is considered to be the “best and the brightest” in this government. But, “In challenging times it becomes more than a 24/7 job. Naturally, even a superman like Jaitley could not do justice to the task,” he said.

Sinha said that Jaitley failed to take corrective measures in time as “he was carrying the heavy burden of so many extra responsibilities. The results are there for all of us to see.”
