New regulations, including the red card rule will come in force in cricket from tomorrow. Just like referees in football, umpires can now sent players off the field, showing red card for serious misconduct. This includes threatening or assaulting umpires and players or any other act of violence. The Decision Review System (DRS) will now be allowed in T20Is. Teams won’t lose a review if the on-field decision stays because of “umpire’s call”. In tests, teams will now have only 2 unsuccessful reviews per innings, as opposed to getting 2 reviews replenished after 80 overs.
