Two people were hacked to death while three suffered injuries in a suspected revenge attack at Farangipet under the Bantwal Rural police station limits on the outskirts of Mangaluru on Monday.
The deceased are Zia, a resident of Adyar near here, and Fayaz.
The assailants attacked them with sharp weapons near a hotel at around 10.30 p.m.
The assailants have been identified as Naufal, Munna and Arshad. The three were in a multi-utility vehicle when they waylaid Zia and the others who were in their vehicles and attacked them at Farangipet.
They are said to be rowdy-sheeters from Kannur area in the city.
The Bantwal Rural police, who have registered cases of murder and attempt to murder, are investigating further.
They are on the lookout for the accused.
