Corporation has set a deadline for collecting professional tax from organisations. Government and private offices functioning within the corporation limits are liable to pay professional tax.

The corporation secretary said offices can pay professional tax with dues till September 28. Those failing to comply will attract prosecution, warned the secretary. The warning came after the local body received a poor response to the tax collection drive. Increasing the ambit of professional tax was one of the major steps in corporation budget to increase the revenue.

The corporation informed that the building tax at Muttada ward can be submitted on September 28 at Reshmi Kalasamithi near Cheshire home. The counter will be opened from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm. The inauguration of the primary health centre at Mukkola in Mullur ward on Wednesday has been postponed.
