Indore: An unidentified person managed to flee with Rs 2 lakh from a car in busiest 56 Dukan area on Monday. The accused first mislead the car driver and later, flee with bag containing money. The police are examining the CCTV footage to trace the accused.
According to Tukoganj police, complainant, a handloom trader Priyesh Parakh of South Rajmohall area stated in his complaint that he went for shopping for his cousin’s marriage with his uncle Sanjay Surana and driver Jagdish Barhate and had stopped at 56 Dukaan area. The driver was sitting in the car alone when an unidentified person approached him and informed about oil leakage in the vehicle. Later, when Jagdish got out of the car to check the leakage the accused stole the bag containing Rs 2 lakh from the vehicle and fled the scene.
The driver immediately informed Parakh about the incident and they started searching for the man, who misguided about the oil leakage, but it was too late. Police are suspecting that the theft was committed by more than one person and are scanning the CCTV footage of the area to identify the thieves. Police have also registered a case against the unidentified person and have started investigation in the incident.
Theft in locked house
Thieves broke into a locked house in Sai Kripa Colony under Khajrana police station jurisdiction area on Monday and decamped with valuables. Victim Lokesh in his complaint stated that he went out with his family on September 17 and when he returned on Monday, he found the lock was broken and households were in disarray. The thieves took away gold chain, gold bangles, gold earings, silver jewellery and Rs 8000 cash, he claimed. Police have registered a case in the incident.
MYH technician thrashed
A technician working with MY Hospital was thrashed by the patient’s attendant, alleging delay in treatment on Monday. According to police, patient Chhaganlal Silawat, a resident of Khudail area was rushed to the hospital by his family members as he was found unconscious in Devguradiya area. The doctors in casualty informed for an immediate ECG but the concerning technician caused a 30 minute delay after which one of the relative thrashed him following an altercation. The situation in the hospital got chaotic after which the ECG of the patient was performed in presence of police staff and security guards. In another incidence, complainant Akash Rathore was thrashed by his neighbour Chandar and Suresh over some petty issue in Kishanganj area on Monday. The police have registered a complaint against the accused and have started their investigation.
Anti-socials held for disturbing peace
For maintaining the peace and harmony of the city during the Navratri celebrations police started preventive arrest of criminals and held several miscreants from different areas for creating nuisance near the Garba Pandals on Monday. It was reported that the criminals tried to flee but the police managed to arrest them. Apart from this, strict checking at major squares was also carried out.
7 held for serving liquor without permission
Police arrested seven including the cafe owner in Jagjeevan Ram Nagar under MIG police station jurisdiction area on Monday for serving liquor without permission. The police acting on a tip off seized crates of unused and some used liquor bottles and are now investigating from where the liquor was purchased and at what rate it was given to the customers.
