A gazette notification issued by the Tamil Nadu government says the inquiry commission will re-examine everything that happened from the time Jayalalithaa was hospitalised till the day she breathed her last.
The Tamil Nadu government has said in a gazette notification that the inquiry commission constituted to probe former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's death, was ordered to complete its investigation within a period of three months, starting on Monday.
The notification, also called a government order or GO, was published on Monday, but released on Wednesday.
Another GO, dated Wednesday, says the commission will re-examine everything that happened from the time Jayalalithaa was hospitalised till the day she breathed her last.
To be precise, the investigators will "enquire into the circumstances and the situations leading to the hospitalisation of the late Hon'ble Chief Minister on 22.09.2016 and subsequent treatment provided till her demise on 5.12.2016," the notification says.
The Tamil Nadu government has listed the acts to which the commission will adhere to, and describes the extent of its powers.
It had already announced the the probe into the former AIADMK supremo's death would be headed by A Arumughaswamy, a retired judge of the Madras High Court.
Investigators could find it challenging to gather data for analysis, given the amount of time that has passed since Jayalalithaa died.
