Around 7,200 participate in the job fair organised at MKU

A total of 1,240 people received job offers from 53 companies which participated in the job fair organised by the district administration and District Employment Office in Madurai Kamaraj University here on Tuesday, a statement by the university said.

According to university officials, the job fair saw a huge turnout of around 7,200 job seekers, mainly youngsters. Addressing the participants, Collector K. Veera Raghava Rao stressed the need for developing interpersonal, leadership and other soft skills, which were as crucial as obtaining degrees.

As part of Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, he also used the opportunity to stress the need for cleanliness and made the participants take a pledge to maintain their environment clean. MKU Vice-Chancellor P.P. Chellathurai, Registrar (in-charge) V. Chinniah and officials of the university and the district administration participated.
