After releasing a promo video of its first celebrity contestant Gaurav Gera, who will entertain the audience in his 'Pinky Padosan' avatar, the makers of Bigg Boss 11 have announced the names of four other housemates.
These four 'neighbours' are Jyoti Kumari, the daughter of a office clerk from Patna; Shivani Durgah from Noida, who seems to be a religious devotee; Sapna Choudhary from Delhi, who you may know from this dance video of 'Lak 28 Kudi Da'; Mumbai's Zubair Khan, who is married into a family from the city's underworld.
What is interesting to note is that each of these contestants has an individual distinct voice of their own; Kumari talked about how people from small towns don't need to have small ambitions, while Choudhary claimed that if she is considered vulgar for her dance, so should all of the actresses who dance to item songs in Bollywood.
Bigg Boss 11 will start airing on 1 October, and the theme of this year's edition is 'Neighbours'. In an interview to Firstpost, Salman Khan confessed that he is in two minds about hosting the show.
"Sometimes I do feel like I don’t want to do the show and I say it. But then I realise that this show has lot of positive elements for the audience to take from. When we are watching it, we do feel that the behaviour of certain contestants is wrong and automatically we don’t like that person. You feel that if such a situation arises in your life you will never react to it like that. Similarly, when someone shows a positive attitude, we get inspired from that person. There are lot of good things you can take from the show," he said.
