Mumbai: After a lot of hue and cry over the ‘exhumation’ footages of Sheena Bora’s body, the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) on Tuesday submitted a copy of the compact disk (CD) containing footage. The agency also submitted nearly 60 photographs of Sheena’s dead body, which was exhumed in 2015 from Raigad district.
The exhumation footage is a crucial evidence which strengthens the prosecution’s case against Indrani and her husbands—Sanjeev Khanna and Peter Mukherjea.
The footage and photographs were submitted days after the defence advocates refused to continue the cross examination of accused-turned-approver Shyamvar Rai. The advocates had claimed that the CD of the exhumation footages has gone missing, since it was not found in the container in which all the articles (mudde maal) pertaining to the case were kept.
Advocate Shreyansh Mithare representing Khanna, confirmed the news saying, “The prosecution submitted the copy of the CD and photographs to the court. A copy of the same was also handed over to the advocates of all the three accused. The cross examination would continue this week.”

Meanwhile, the CBI cited the ongoing ‘durga puja’ for the unavailability of a nodal officer from Vodafone’s Kolkata branch. The nodal officer was summoned by the court to ascertain if Khanna’s Call Data Records (CDRs) could be retrieved. However, the nodal officers of Airtel (used by Sheena) and Reliance (used by Rahul Mukherjea) are likely to depose before the court on Wednesday.
