Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is using an Android phone instead of Windows, it has been revealed. Considering that Android is a product of great rival Google, that is quite a big move. Though the exact model of his phone is still a mystery, Gates told Fox News Sunday that his phone has a good mix of Microsoft software on it. According to The Verge, Gates’ revelation of using an Android with Microsoft software on it suggests he uses the special Microsoft Edition Samsung Galaxy S8 handset. However, that is a conjecture that has not been confirmed as yet.
Microsoft’s special edition of Galaxy S8 includes software like Office, OneDrive, Cortana, and Outlook. This handset was brought into the market earlier this year and Microsoft plans on continuing its sale in the future as well, reports The Verge. The applications available on this customized handset of Microsoft are supported on other Android devices as well.
As reported by The Verge, the Microsoft co-founder is not yet interested in the iPhone. Though he had banned iPhones and iPods at home, in his interview with the Fox news, Gates called Steve Jobs, a “genius”. Despite lauding the Apple founder in his interview, Bill Gates still continues to use Windows-based computers and does not want to shift himself to using anything else.
