WWE Raw Results: Roman Reigns defeats The Miz but left in a heap

Roman Reigns was coming fresh off his WWE No Mercy win over John Cena on Sunday night and had all the momentum on his side. With that challenge out of the way, Reigns had set his sights firmly on the WWE Universal Championship belt held by Brock Lesnar who continued his reign by beating Braun Strowman. While being interviewed by The Miz, Reigns called him an idiot which The Awesome One countered by reminding that he was the one who currently held a title.

Reigns let go of jabs that the Miztourage could take out The Shield back in the day, he didn’t take too kindly to the Championship belt being thrust in his face. The Big Dog offered to fight him on the spot but The Miz countered with lame excuse of “I have a suit on”. Not to be undone, WWE Raw General Manager Kurt Angle approved a match between the two later in the night including a tag team match between The Miztourage and Matt Hardy-Jason Jordan.

The Miztourage were a constant presence during the match which The Miz lost but left Reigns with a message. Each time The Big Dog got an advantage, The Miz came back with a barrage of blows to his lower back on distractions by Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. A double Drive-By took out Dallas & Axel and created the opening for Reigns to deliver a Spear and go for the win. But his plans were foiled by The Miztourage who returned to attack Reigns with steel chairs and feed him into two Skull-Crushing Finales, the second on top of a chair.

If that wasn’t enough, The Miz kept the assault going. But the most defining moment was when the trio mocked Reigns with the classic Shield fist bump to bring to an end a brutal display.
