'Rally for Rivers' is need of hour: Yogi Adityanath

Chief Minister on Tuesday said that 'Rally for Rivers' is not a mere slogan, but a movement which is the need of the hour and added that before the Ardh Kumbh, his will make every effort to cleanse the rivers.

"This movement to save rivers is not a mere slogan, but it is a need of the hour. In 2020, we will organize Kumbh in Prayagraj. Along with Ganga and Yamuna, there is also a confluence of the Saraswati River. Ganga is the most polluted in Jajmau, therefore, we will take care of it before the Ardh Kumbh Mela," the Chief Minister said while addressing a 'Rally for Rivers' programme in University here.

He asserted that Prayagraj is important in due to the Sangam River, but the Saraswati River is not in that form, adding the need for drinking water in is fulfilled by the Gomti River, but 26 drains have made Gomti impure.
