Girl cuts hand, Blue Whale suspected

JHARSUGUDA:Amid reports of youngsters falling prey to the deadly online game Blue Whale Challenge, a 22-year-old girl on Monday was admitted to Jehangir Gandhy Hospital of Tata-Krosaki Limited at Belpahar with cut marks on her wrist and hands.
The girl, identified as Jajani Bagarti of Piplimal village within Belpahar police limits, was found unconscious in the morning. She was rushed to hospital by family members and villagers who found that the girl had cut her wrist and hand besides consuming sleeping pills. Her condition is stated to be critical.
As per reports, Jajani was pursuing nurse training in Bhubaneswar and had reached her home on Sunday.
It is learnt that the since girl’s family was not financially sound, she was pursuing the nursing course along with working in a private clinic. Her elder sister worked with a security agency. Sources said Jajani was depressed over her family’s financial constraints.
Brajrajnagar SDPO NC Dansena said the girl had consumed eight strips of sleeping pills and continues to be unconscious. She has minor injuries on her hand. Police are waiting to record her statement before reaching any conclusion, he added.
