ACB unearths Rs 1.53 cr DA from Tel Excise official

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today unearthed disproportionate assets worth Rs 1.53 crore allegedly belonging to a superintendent of the Prohibition and Excise department in Nizamabad district.

ACB officials conducted simultaneous searches at the residence and other places of B Jyothi Kiran after registering a case of disproportionate assets against him.


Kiran has allegedly acquired 30 acres of agricultural land, two flats, 16 open plots, over 1 kg of gold ornament, the agency said in a release.

"The officials also found balances to the tune of Rs 10.13 lakh, policies worth Rs 9.65 lakh, one car, two two-wheelers and household articles during the searches," it said.

While the documentary value of the properties is approximately Rs 1.53 crore, the market value is Rs 4 crore.

"The Excise official is being arrested. The case is under investigation," the release added.
