Four children die as stove explodes

Four children were burnt to death after a gas stove of a pushcart food vendor exploded in the remote Fattu Naik Tanda in Chincholli taluk of Kalaburagi district on Monday evening.

The deceased were identified as Riteesh, his sister Ritika, Preetam and Akshata. All were aged between three and four. Preetam and Ritika were killed on the spot, while Riteesh and Akshata died on the way to hospital.

The incident took place when all the four children went to buy eateries from the pushcart food vendor. Vendor Veerashetty Naik was seriously injured and was shifted to a health centre at Chittaguppa town in Humnabad taluk in Bidar.

A case has been registered at the Chincholli police station.
