As expected, Gionee yesterday launched the M7 and M7 Power. However, the Chinese manufacturer took the wraps off another smartphone called Gionee Steel 2 Plus.
The Gionee Steel 2 Plus is the successor to the Steel 2 that was released in January this year. Well, naturally, the Plus variant has got a number of upgrades in almost every aspect. In case you are wondering, it is the same device that was recently spotted on TENAA carrying the model number GN5007. While initially, it was thought to be a variant of the Gionee M7.

Gionee Steel 2 Plus specs
The Steel 2 Plus comes with a 6-inch FullView display with a HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under its hood, the phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor. The chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space.
Talking about the imagery aspect, the smartphone is equipped with a 13MP rear-facing primary sensor which is accompanied by a LED flash. Up front, there is an 8MP selfie camera.
Since the smartphone sports a large 6-inch HD+ screen, Gionee has used a 5,000mAh battery to keep the lights on.
In addition, the Steel 2 Plus features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Notably, the Gionee Steel 2 Plus didn't have a fingerprint scanner.
Gionee Steel 2 Plus price and availability
The Steel 2 Plus carries a price tag of 1,999 Yuan (approximately Rs. 19,750). There are three color variants of the smartphone; Black, Blue, and Gold.
As of now, we have heard no words on the international availability of the Gionee device.
