PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss on Monday said that a CBI probe was required to bring out the truth about former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s death. In a statement issued here, he said that sidelined AIADMK leader Dhinakaran’s claim that he had video footage of Jayalalithaa in hospital had raised more doubts than it had dispelled.
“Mr. Dhinakaran said that Sasikala had shot videos of Jayalalithaa, but those videos weren’t released because Jayalalithaa had lost a lot of weight. However, while observing her body when it was kept for public homage at Rajaji Hall, it didn’t appear as though she had lost a massive amount of weight,” he claimed.
According to him, if it was true that Jayalalithaa had lost weight by the time Sasikala took videos of her, then her body structure should have remained the same on the eve of her death as well. “There is no way that she could have gained weight in the intervening period while undergoing treatment. Also, before Sasikala went to prison, she had said that there were no pictures of Jayalalithaa [in hospital],” he said.
