Youngsters trek in deep forest in Bhupalpally district | Express

BHUPALPALLY : When Bhupalpally district forest officials decided to launch a series of  events for nature lovers, they never thought that they would get such overwhelming response. Buoyed by the response they got from the rock climbing  festival held last month at Pandavula Gutta in which, over 200 people  including Warangal urban collector Amrapali Kata participated, the  officials started trekking activities from deep forest area of  Oddugudem to Pasra via Rapatla. To their surprise over 100 nature lovers including students of National Institute of Technology, Warangal participated in the first two days of the event.

Endowed with vast stretches of forests, including Eturunagaram Wildlife Sanctuary in Bhupalpally is turning into one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the state. The district forest officials are planning to cash on its vast natural spots to promote eco-tourism. According to  eco-tourism coordinator Kalyanapu Suman, people were unaware about various adventure sports available in Bhupalpaly. Now that media was highlighting it, a lot of people were coming to the district to experience the nature’s beauty. Adventure sports are good for people looking for a change in routine, especially corporate bodies, Suman said. “This tour is perfect for corporate groups,” he said.

The  forest department  is also planning to start a cycling  track. Sources said the officials are working on a 45 km route  connecting  Tadvai, Medaram, Urattam, Kondai and Malyala for cycling. The forest department had prepared an event calendar from September 23 to January 28  for a series of event.
