After more than 25 corridors in Delhi were declared “no-tolerance zones” for parking and encroachment, the Delhi Traffic Police has started cracking down on errant drivers. As many as 280 vehicles were impounded and 750 challans were issued to offenders during the anti-encroachment drive held on Monday. The drive was jointly conducted by the Delhi Traffic Police and the three civic bodies.

Traffic police collected over Rs 4.97 lakh in fine, of which the MCD collected over Rs 3.47 lakh in penalty. The stretches that have been made “no-tolerance” zones include Aurobindo Chowk-Andheria More, Chirag Delhi Crossing-Savitri Flyover, among others.
