In the inaugural session, Minister of Bengaluru Planning and Development KJ George emphasized on infrastructure for country's progress.

Addressing the audience, George said, "Unless you build infrastructure, the country can't progress."

He then spoke about the contribution of the Congress government towards the growth of infrastructure in Bengaluru and the country at large, focussing on real estate and the development of water sources during Devaraj Urs' tenure.

"People say we are in power for 4 and a half years in the state, but we have been in power at the BBMP for only 2 years", he said emphasising on the money being pumped into Bengauluru development in the last year.
