German sports car manufacturer, Porsche has revealed the plug-in hybrid version of Panamera Turbo S, known as the E-Hybrid Sport Turismo. The car bookings have been opened in the US and the car is expected to be priced at $189,450, however, deliveries will begin by 2018. The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid uses the same engine which powers its four-door sibling, Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid sedan. The new Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-hybrid Sport Turismo comes with a 4.0 litre V8 turbocharged engine that produces 542 hp of power combines with an electric motor that produces 131 hp. The twin-turbo V8 engine mated to an electric motor that produces a total output of 680 hp of power and 850Nm of torque mated to an eight-speed PDK transmission with an all-wheel drive. The battery in the car comes with an energy capacity of 14.1 kWh and can be fully charged via 10amp or 120V connections. The charging can also be done by using a timer via Porsche Communication Management(PCM) or Porsche Connect App. The car can accelerate 0-100 kmph in 3.2 seconds and can attain a top speed of close to 320 kmph. The company has also equipped the performance car with auxiliary air conditioning, which can cool the cabin prior to driving without having to depend on the engine.
The carbon ceramic brakes, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport (PDCC), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and Power Steering Plus are standard features in the vehicle. In addition, it gets the Sport Chrono package and 21-inch alloy wheels. The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo gets a raised roofline, which offers a more better headroom. Also, it gets a boot space of 424 litres which can be extended to 1,294 litres by folding the rear seats.
