On September 25, the bearish sentiment yet again loomed large on equity markets as both Sensex and Nifty faced huge losses. This comes after it saw a major downturn on September 22 as Sensex slipped almost 450 points. The 30-share BSE Sensex closed on 31,626.63, down by 295.81 while the broader 50-share NSE Nifty lost 91.80 points to close on 9,872.60. In intraday trade, Sensex had lost 447.88 points to hit the day low of 31,474.56. Both the indices lost almost a per cent during the day's trade. More than three shares declined for every share rising on the BSE.
