Bibek Debroy to head PM Narendra Modi's Economic Advisory Council

NEW DELHI: Niti Aayog member Bibek Debroy will head the Economic Advisory Council constituted by PM Narendra Modi. The council will analyse any issue - economic or otherwise - referred to it by the Prime Minister and will advise him on it.
The council has three part-time members - Surjit Bhalla, Rathin Roy, Ashima Goyal. Niti Aayog Principal Advisor Ratan Watal has been appointed as Member-Secretary of the council.
Besides advising PM, the council will address issues of macroecnomic importance. The council may also advise the PM suo-motu.
