Auto driver held for sexually assaulting minor

BENGALURU: A 26-year-old auto driver was arrested on charges of repeated sexual assault on a minor girl in Anantapura Layout in Yelahanka. Earlier, the accusedGirish was working as a bus driver in a private school.

The victim is his relative and studies in Class 9 at a government school. Girish’s marriage was scheduled in December and his parents were in talks with the bride’s family over the date. Girish, a resident of Anantpura would lure the minor to his place whenever he was alone. On September 19, he went to her home while her parents had gone for work. He allegedly assaulted her.

When the girl later complained of pain in her private parts, her parents took her to a hospital where she narrated the incident and revealed Girish’s name. The girl’s parents who are daily wagers approached Yelahanka New Town Police and he was arrested. Girish was booked under POCSO Act.
