The Shiv Sena, a key member of the ruling NDA government at the Centre, today took out a march protesting inflation and the rising prices of fuel.
Scores of Shiv Sainiks, including a large number of women participated in the march taken out by the Thane City (District) unit, which was led by senior Sena leader and Maharashtra minister Eknath Shinde.
"Even if we are in the government, Shiv Sena is committed to the citizens' welfare. On account of the constant increase in prices of fuel and essential commodities, Sena is with the common man, hence this march has been taken out," Shinde told PTI.
Shiv Sena, which is part of the BJP-led state government, on Saturday had protested in parts of Mumbai against inflation and the rising prices of petrol and diesel.
