For ‘harassing’ his wife, man ‘stabs’ friend to death

A 26-year-old man allegedly stabbed his friend to death for harassing his wife, according to the police, which interrogated the man on Monday. The body of the 38-year-old man was found in a creek at Dharavli village, Malwani, on Sunday. The deceased, identified as Raees Kareemulla Ansari, a resident of Ganeshnagar, Kandivali West, had several stab wounds on the chest, abdomen and hands, the police said.

According to Deepak Phatangare, Senior Inspector, Malwani police station, the man had been stabbed repeatedly with a sharp weapon. Following a tip-off, the police on Monday interrogated Shahrukh Ansari, the friend of the deceased, who later allegedly confessed to having committed the murder.

The police added that Raees Ansari harassed Shahrukh’s wife several times, enraged by that the accused committed the crime.
