Arun Jaitley defamation case: Delhi HC dismisses Raghav Chadha's plea

The High on Monday dismissed (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha's plea where the he had asserted that re-tweeting a tweet of Chief Minister Kejriwal against Minister cannot amount to defamation.

The High was asked by the Supreme to take a decision on Chadha's plea against the trial court's summoning order.

Chadha in his plea had sought setting aside of a trial order of summoning him in the criminal defamation case filed by Jaitley in and District Cricket Association (DDCA) row.

Jaitley had filed a criminal defamation suit against Kejriwal and five other (AAP) leaders including Ashutosh, Kumar Vishwas, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chaddha and Deepak Bajpai.

In his complaint, Jaitley had accused Kejriwal and others of defaming him in a controversy regarding the DDCA and sought Rs 10 crore as damages.

Jaitley was president of the DDCA, he had held from 2000 to 2013.
