Army Chief General Bipin Rawat has said last year's surgical strikes were a message for Pakistan, one he thinks they've understood.
"The strikes were more in the terms of a messaging that we wanted to communicate to them. And I think they've understood what we mean..," he said at event held to mark the release of India Today Consulting Editor Shiv Aroor's new book: India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes.
With General Rawat was General Dalbir Singh Suhag, who was the Chief of Army Staff when the surgical strikes took place.
