Yadav has accused Nitish Kumar of insulting the mandate

Rajya Sabha MP and rebel JDU leader Sharad Yadav has embarked on his second leg of Bihar Yatra today.

Sharad Yadav, who has taken a stand against his party's National President and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and snapped ties with the RJD and Congress to form government with the BJP will be touring 8 districts of Bihar in the next four days and will be holding public meetings against newly formed JDU-BJP government.

The rebel JDU leader has accused Nitish Kumar of insulting the mandate given to the Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar in 2015 Assembly Elections and forging an unholy alliance with BJP. During his four day visit to the state Sharad Yadav will be traveling to Patna, Ara, Buxar, Sasaram, Kaimur, Aurangabad, Gaya and Jehanabad. He will be holding 30 public meetings during this period. Sharad had undertaken a similar exercise in August during the first leg of his Bihar yatra where he toured 8 districts.

It is notable, that the stand taken by Sharad Yadav to protest formation on JDU-BJP alliance has upset CM Nitish to the extent that JDU has recommended termination of his Rajya Sabha membership after meeting the Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Venkaiah Naidu. JDU has accused Sharad of indulging into anti- party activities. The decision in this regard is pending with Chairman of Rajya Sabha.

The rebel JDU leader apart from slamming Nitish Kumar for allying with BJP has maintained that though Mahagathbandhan has broken at the political level but he has appealed that the Mahagathbandhan should continue at the ground level amongst the voters. Sharad had also attended RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav's "Desh bachao, Bhajpa bhagao" rally held on August 17 in Patna which had infuriated his own party leaders.

Recently Sharad Yadav, backed by other opposition leaders had claimed that the JDU headed by Nitish Kumar was not the real JDU and he had staked claim with the Election Commission that the JDU he was heading was the real JDU. Sharad led faction of JDU and even staked claim on the party symbol "arrow". However, the Election Commission refused to recognise the Sharad faction has the real JDU.
