HDK taken off ventilator

BENGALURU: Janata Dal (Secular) president, H D Kumaraswamy who was admitted to Apollo Hospitals for a valve replacement surgery was taken off the ventilator on Sunday.

However, Kumaraswamy (57) continues to remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Apollo Hospital. Dr C N Manjunath, who has been overseeing the procedure said that the former Chief Minister is stable. “He has been taken off the ventilator. We will keep a watch on his condition for a day and then decide on whether he has to be moved to the ward,” Dr Manjunath said.Kumaraswamy had undergone a valve replacement surgery in December 2007 as well. He also has a history of diabetes.
