The recommendation comes days after she won the 2017 Korea Open beating Japan's Nozomi Okuhara in the final.

The 22-year-old shuttler has won bronze medals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and 2014 Asian Games. She has also a silver medal and two bronze medals at the World Championships.
Earlier this month, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had nominated former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni for Padma Bhushan 'for his contribution to the game'.
A senior BCCI official had confirmed that MS Dhoni's name was one sent by the Board for the Padma awards this year and it was a unanimous decision to nominate 'India's most successful captain'.
